At THE BRASS STUDIO, we try to teach the person and the instrument, not just "exams".  It is important that a relationship of trust and mutual understanding of the activity be developed.  We are not trying to "churn out" future professionals, but are more interested in improving and maximizing each student's musical experience, usually at school.

We feel that, the more skilled and confident the  student is on their instrument, the greater and happier will be their experience in their school and community groups.

Past this stage is very much up to the individual musician.  We are happy and able to cater for students with the highest goals but, as we mostly deal with students in their formative years, it is important to stay based in the fundamentals and the most important fundamentals are probably -

"Music is about communication and expression" and "Music is fun"

So, it follows that, the more skilled and confident you are, the better you are able to communicate your musical message and the fun you will have doing that.
